How are the Lingap Scholars chosen?
Lingap Adhikain Foundation Inc. partners with selected state or local colleges and universities. The scholarship coordinator from partner schools identifies and recommends students who display eagerness and determination to reach their aspirations but have limited financial ability to finish their tertiary education. The applicants undergo a rigorous application process, comprised of an evaluation of the application form, supporting documents, and essay, an applicant interview, and a parent interview/home visit. Based on the gathered information, the trustees of the Foundation deliberate and decide who among the applicants should be given a Lingap scholarship.

Sponsors may also choose a specific student to support even those who are not from Lingap partner schools.

How am I helping the student?

Sponsor-a-Scholar Program is designed to secure contributions that directly fund the cost of a scholar’s tertiary education. As a sponsor of a specific scholar, you may provide for the school fees (in some cases) or monetary allowance for the scholar’s educational needs (e.g. transportation, food, clothing, project expenses, etc.). For only PHP1000 a month (PHP250.00 a week), you can help underprivileged youth have the ability to shoulder the hidden costs of schooling, complete tertiary education, and become professionals.

With the Lingap Fund Program, you can provide any amount you prefer as a donor. Donations from various persons will be pooled to build the Scholarship Fund which is used to support Lingap scholars who do not have a specific sponsor.

How long will my sponsorship last?

In Sponsor-a-Scholar Program, it is the entire tertiary education that is covered by the sponsor. Depending on the course and year level of the scholar, it could be for about 3 to 5 years.

What if I forget my sponsorship pledge?

Sponsors can donate on a yearly or semestral basis. Sometimes, sponsors forget to give their pledges. The Foundation will send letters at the end of every semester to inform sponsors regarding the balance of their scholar’s account and the amount needed for the scholar. In these letters, sponsors are also updated of the academic progress of their scholar/s.

How do I send my donation?

A Lingap Adhikain representative can go to your office to pick up your donation. You may also directly deposit to the bank account of Lingap Adhikain Foundation Inc. Kindly send us a copy of the deposit slip so we can prepare the corresponding official receipt. However, if you prefer to send your donation by other means, please do not hesitate to let us know.
